Dan Burns

Sun Valley High School / York College of PA

Danny was born and raised in Aston, Delaware county. As a youth playing for Aston Valley baseball league he won two Cal Ripken PA state championships as well as two Mid Atlantic region runner ups. He went on the win a PA District 1 championship while playing at Sun Valley high school in 2005. Danny furthered his education in sports by obtaining a bachelors degree in sport management at York College of PA. He has stayed active in the game while playing men’s hardball and softball and has stayed involved with Aston Valley baseball league as both a coach and an umpire. Recently Danny has been the facility manager at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield PA and the facility and operations manager at YSC Sports in Wayne PA.

Pat Gorman

Albertus Magnus High School / Rockland Community College / New York Mets & Baltimore Orioles

Pat went to Albertus Magnus HS in Rockland County NY where his team won the League Championship twice and he received honors such as All League, All County, All Section, All State, Team MVP, Tom Collins Award for athletic Excellence, and Section one Pitcher of the year in 1995 with a 0.29 era. He then continued on at Rockland Community College where his team won the Region championship and was drafted by the NY Mets after his freshman year. After several years in the Mets and Orioles organizations Pat retired in 2003 due to injuries and began his coaching career. Pat became the Pitching Coach at Nyack College for two years in 2003 & 2004 where they won a conference championship for the first time in school history.He also coached the Rockland Brewers to the NABF College WS in Toledo Ohio where he stayed for three years before transitioning to younger teams. Throughout the past seven years Pat has coached a number of different youth teams in Rockland County.

Brooke Lachette 

Pitching, Hitting, Fielding

Archbishop Prendergast High School / Wilmington University

Brooke is an Assistant Softball Coach at Arcadia University working with pitchers, hitters and infielders. This follows a four-year playing career at Wilmington University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business management in 2017. She helped the Wildcats reach the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships in 2014 and 2016, along with appearances in the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament all four years. Lachette started 49 games in her career, picking up 28 wins while also recording five saves. Brooke graduated from Archbishop Prendergast in 2013 where she played a huge role as their primary pitcher and designated hitter over four years and contributed to a Catholic League Championship her senior year.

Zach Lutz

Governor Mifflin High School / Alvernia College / New York Mets & Miami Marlins 

Graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 2004 and then attended Alvernia College from 2005-2007.  First team All American all three seasons and in 2007 was D3.com National Player of the Year.  In 2013 was named to the second team all decade team from D3.com.  Drafted by the New York Mets in the fifth round of the 2007 MLB draft.  Played with the organization for eight years and made his MLB debut in 2012.   Played overseas in Japan for the Rakuten Eagles of the NPB in 2014, and the Doosan Bears in Korea of the KBO in 2015.  In 2016 played in the Miami Marlins organization for the Triple A affiliate the New Orleans Zephyrs.

Joe Martin

Gwynedd Mercy / Temple University

Joe played one year at Gwynedd Mercy University before transferring to Temple University. After his playing career ended Joe has spend time as the Director of Baseball Operations at The University of Pennsylvania from 2015-2016 as well as being the Head Coach for Nether Providence American Legion since 2013. He won five straight Main Line League Titles as a coach. He is currently the Assistant Coach at the Haverford School in addition to working with All-Star.

Jacksonville State University

Paschal was a four year starter at Jacksonville State University where he played 1B and DH in the Ohio Valley Conference. During his career he won numerous awards including the Louisville Slugger Freshman All American award.

West Deptford High School / Wesley College

Sean was a Middle Infielder for four years at Wesley College. During his time there he earned All Conference accolades from 2005-2006. Prior to his time at Wesley Sean graduated from West Deptford High School and participated in the American Legion World Series.

Cardinal O’Hara High School / Marist College / Lake Erie Crushers

A graduate of Cardinal O’Hara High School, Josh went on to play collegiately for Marist College where he was First-Team All-Conference, All-Northeast Second-Team and Marist Player of the Year. Following his collegiate career, Josh played professionally in Europe, as well as for the Lake Erie Crushers.

Joe Sheeran

Springfield High School / Harford Community College & West Chester University 

Joe graduated from Springfield High School in 2013. In 2012 he was a first team All-State infielder with a batting average of .627. He then attended Harford Community College from 2013-2015 and helped lead Harford to a Regional Championship. After Harford Joe went on to attend West Chester University from 2015-2017 and was a two year starter at 2nd base. During his time there, they won the 2017 Division 2 National Championship.

A graduate of Marple Newtown High School, Mike went on to play collegiately for East Stroudsburg University where he earned his degree in Sports Management. Mike has been with ASBA for one-year.

Jay joined All-Star after playing college baseball at Rutgers-Camden and Montclair State. During his Junior year he led the NJAC conference with a .174 batting average against him for the season.

West Morris Mendham High School / New York Mets

Dave went to West Morris Mendham HS where he earned All-State honors in 1999 and 2000. He was then drafted into the New York Mets organization and continued playing in the Atlantic League with the Atlantic City Surf where he was an All Star in 2007. Dave joins the Cherry Hill staff after previously working at our West Chester location.

Marple Newtown High School / Brigham Young University

Rob was a two time first team all-Delco and all-area player in High School and then went on to play at BYU. During his time there they won the Mountain West Conference in 2002 and he finished with a .315 career conference batting average.

Cherry Hill East High School / Wilkes University

Alex is a product of Cherry Hill East High School Baseball, where he was a Camden County All-Star his senior year as well as the David J. Martin Sportsmanship Award recipient. After high school Alex continued his baseball career at Wilkes University where played seven of the nine positions in the field in four years.

Jenna Long

Wildwood Catholic / Salisbury University / Chestnut Hill College

Jenna began her collegiate softball career at Salisbury University. As a member of the team, she competed to win the Regional and Super Regional tournaments, finishing second overall at the division III National Championship. Jenna then transferred to Chestnut Hill College, where she was a three year starter maintaining over a .965 fielding percentage throughout her career. In the spring of 2016 Jenna was awarded with CHC academic honor roll, and will be receiving her Bachelors degree in Business Administration in December of 2017.

Rachael Matraele

Pitching

Williamstown High School / Rider University

Rachael was a four-year starting pitcher while attending Rider University and graduated in 2012. She claimed Second Team All-MAAC honors as a junior after appearing in 29 games, making 26 starts while leading the team in wins, appearances and strikeouts. Rachael was named team captain in 2012. During her time with the Broncs she earned MAAC Player of the Week nine times in 2012 (a five-time winner in 2012) and named to the MAAC All-Academic Team all four years. She was awarded South Jersey College Player of the year in 2012, holds several Rider and MAAC player records, and was named to MAAC Conference First Team (2012) and Second Team (2011). Rachael’s jersey was retired for Williamstown High School Softball in 2014 and she was Inducted into the high school’s Hall of Fame in 2016.

Jacob Reeder

Jacob graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. During his time there he was able to maintain a fielding percentage above .900% his entire career. In High School he was part of two state championship teams.

Gloucester City High School / Rider University / The College of New Jersey

A graduate of Gloucester City High School where he played four years of varsity baseball, Adam went on to play collegiately at Rider University for two years before transferring to The College of New Jersey where he finished his final two seasons. In addition to working for All-Star Baseball Academy, Adam is the head coach at Gloucester Catholic High School.

Kyle Warren

Cherokee High School / Towson University

Kyle played at Cherokee High School from 2007-2009 before attending Towson University where he graduated with a Sports Management Degree. He has since coached in the Metropolitan Collegiate Summer League and has spent four years working on player development with three different MLB teams. He was also an associate scout for the Houston Astros.

Zach Welsher

Audubon High School / Rutgers- Camden

In 2011 Zach was an Group 1 State Champion at Audubon HS, 2012 Group 1 at Audubon HS, First-Time All-Conference in 2013 at Audubon HS, 2013 American Legion National Champion with the Brooklawn American Legion Team. Lead team in strikeouts for Rutgers-Camden in 2017 with 57 K’s in 55 innings. Zach’s philosophy is in a big game or a pressure situation, don’t underestimate the power of your breath. Don’t be afraid to step out of the box or step off the mound, take a deep breath and reset. Stay Composed so that you’re ready to compete and you’re ready to succeed.

A graduate of Kingsway Regional High School where he was a three-year varsity starter as a shortstop. Steve went on to play collegiately at Davis and Elkins College for two years as a shortstop and second baseman. Unfortunately, Steve was unable to finish his college baseball career due to injury. Before joining All-Star Baseball Academy, Steve coached high school summer baseball for three years.

Taylor played High School baseball at Bordentown where he was a team captain, and was selected as a three time all conference, first team all county, and first team all region player. He then proceeded to play 2 years at Burlington County College and finished with 2 years at Cal U of PA.

James is from Bethlehem PA. He earned a Bachelors degree in Sports Management from Alvernia University. He broke the Alvernia University record for most runners thrown out, and most runners picked off in a single season. His brother is a professional wrestler and he is a die hard Red Sox fan.

A graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School, Keith was a four-year varsity starter at shortstop and pitcher. He was a two-year team captain and MVP, and was a three-time SCCL First Team and two-time All-Area First Team. Keith went on to play collegiately at York College where he earned his degree in Marketing. While at York, Keith earned All-South Region Second Team pitching honors during his senior season and was a part of the winningest team in school history.

Stefanie Feinstein

West Chester Henderson High School / Hofstra University

A 2010 graduate of Hofstra University, Stefanie helped the Pride to three CAA Championships and three NCAA appearances as an outfielder and designated hitter. She was named an NFCA Academic All-American all four years she was at Hofstra and received the CAA Student Athlete Award. After receiving her Bachelors in Marketing with a Minor in Fine Arts Stefanie went on to coach for two years at Bryant University and then joined the Johnson & Wales University softball staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2014. A native of West Chester, PA she worked two seasons with the Wildcats in Rhode Island before joining All-Star.

Andrew Flores

A graduate of Rutgers University, Andrew was a part of the team that advanced to Regionals for the first time in school history. Andrew was the first base coach for the Boston Red Sox’s Dominican League team, and also worked as a MLB video scout for the Red Sox and New York Mets.

Scott Gorgen

Clayton Valley High School / University of California Irvine / St.Louis Cardinals 

A graduate of Clayton Valley High School in Concord, CA, Scott went on to play collegiately at the University of California Irvine where he was a starting pitcher from 2006 – 2008. During his time at UC Irvine, Scott was an All-American and All-Big West Conference honoree. He also played in the 2007 College World Series and on the 2007 USA National Team. Following his standout career at UC Irvine, Scott was a fourth-round draft pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2008 MLB Draft. He made it to the Triple-A level with the Cardinals and accumulated seven years of professional experience.

A graduate of Penn State Altoona and Mansfield University, Dennis was team captain at PSU Altoona for two years, and a 1st team All-AMCC and 2nd team All-AMCC. He also coached at the Glen Mills School for five years.

Tim went to Owen J. Roberts High School where he earned first Team All Conference and All State awards in 2010 and 2011. He then went on to play at St. Joes and was drafted in 2011 by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Seth graduated from Cornerstone University with a B.S. in Business Sport Management while playing baseball. During his career he earned All-Conference honors all four seasons, was a league MVP, two time collegiate academic all conference winner, and player of the year award recipient.

Dallastown High School / Lock Haven University

Tyler was a pitcher at Lock Haven University while obtaining a Bachelors in Sports Management along with a Masters degree in Pre-Law. He was an assistant coach for his American Legion team during the summers of 2010 and 2011. As a lead instructor on many of our programs, he is also available for private pitching instruction for Little League and High School players.

The Lawrenceville School / Eastern University

Joe Clancy is a Hopewell Valley (NJ) native. He played locally at The Lawrenceville School and received honors in the Mid-Atlantic Prep League. Joe went on to play collegiality at Eastern University and graduated in 2017. At Eastern Joe pitched, became a senior captain, and helped the team reach its first MAC-Freedom conference playoff berth in program history. Coach Clancy has returned to Eastern and is currently serving as an Assistant Coach and works with the pitching staff.

Pat went to Albertus Magnus HS in Rockland County NY where his team won the League Championship twice and he received honors such as All League, All County, All Section, All State, Team MVP, Tom Collins Award for athletic Excellence, and Section one Pitcher of the year in 1995 with a 0.29 era. He then continued on at Rockland Community College where his team won the Region championship and was drafted by the NY Mets after his freshman year. After several years in the Mets and Orioles organizations Pat retired in 2003 due to injuries and began his coaching career. Pat became the Pitching Coach at Nyack College for two years in 2003 & 2004 where they won a conference championship for the first time in school history.He also began coaching the Rockland Brewers to the NABF College WS in Toledo Ohio where he stayed for three years before transitioning to younger teams. Throughout the past seven years Pat has coached a number of different youth teams in Rockland County.

Dan Hoy

Germantown Academy / Princeton University / New York Mets

Dan is a former lesson client and team player at ASBA. He graduated from Princeton University, where he captained the Ivy League Championship team in 2016. He is currently an infielder and outfielder in the New York Mets organization. Dan is in his first year coaching at All Star.

A graduate of California University of PA where he was a four year starting catcher and holds the record for runners caught stealing. Will is currently the assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania and in his second year at All-Star Baseball Academy.

Chris Keesser

Barnegat High School / Arcadia University

Chris was a graduate of Barnegat High School in New Jersey and then went on to play at the collegiate level for Arcadia University. During his four year career, Chris pitched mostly in relief and ended up becoming the team’s closer by his junior year. Chris ranks among the top 10 in career appearances, #2 in career Saves, #1 in Saves in a single season, and #1 in career combined shutouts as well as single season combined shutouts.

Peyton Morrell

Peyton was a star pitcher for the Pennsbury Gems organization. She threw 8 different pitches, including a 65mph fastball, and her talent lead her to be recruited by Penn State.

Deanna Myers

Deanna graduated from Holy Family University in 2013 where she still holds two softball records for most home runs in a single season (13 her freshman year) and most career home runs in four seasons, 24! In high school, Deanna was a four year varsity starter, was selected as a Suburban I All League First Team catcher and selected as Bucks County Courier Times All Area First Team catcher. With her travel team, Sports Connection, Deanna won back to back state championships in 2008 and 2009 along with competing in the 2008 Canada Cup.

Ryan was a state champion in baseball and football at La Salle College High School.  Patriot League Honor Roll and Patriot League Champion at Bucknell University.  His philosophy is putting kids in athletic and comfortable positions to allow for their minds to absorb the game of baseball. Energetic and engaged coach who looks to lead and inspire young athletes to become successful individuals – both on and off the field. There is always a lesson to be learned from wins and losses, learning and understanding those lessons is what makes a successful ballplayer in the end.

Eric Ruth

North Penn High School / Winthrop University / New York Yankees

Eric was a graduate of North Penn High School and a member of the 2009 PIAA State Championship team. He then went on to spend four years at Winthrop University. Following his senior year, he signed as a free agent with the New York Yankees in 2013. In 2015 he earned a spot on the Eastern League AA All Star team. During his five seasons in the organization, he was able to make it to AAA.

Rob graduated from Wesley College in 2013 and was a part of 115 overall wins for the program during his time. Post graduation, Rob has been involved in coaching with Paul VI High School in New Jersey (2014), Iowa Lakes Community College (2014-2016), and is currently an assistant coach at La Salle University.

Steven Wells

The Hun School / Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute / Philadelphia University

Steven is a graduate of Philadelphia University, now known as Thomas Jefferson University. He was a three year starter at PhilaU from 2015-2017. He transferred from Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute after his first year there from 2013-2014. While at PhilaU he was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association DII All-American Third Team. Steven was also named the American Baseball Coaches Association DII All-East Region Player of the Year and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association DII All-East Region Player of the Year all in 2017. At a conference level in 2017, he was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Year and to the All-CACC First team. Steven is currently a first baseman in independent professional baseball where he plays for the High Desert Yardbirds in the PECOS League in Adelanto, California and where we won the 2017 PECOS championship.

Hodgson Vocational Tech High School / Lincoln University / Neumann University

After a high school career consisting of being a three year varsity starter and Stena Cup team MVP winner, Matt was recruited by Lincoln University. After playing at Lincoln and earning CIAA player of the week (pitcher) accolades, Matt transferred to Neumann University. While at Neumann, Matt earned the CSAC player of the week award as well as several team game MVP shirts while pursuing an accounting degree. Matt has played and pitched in the DE semi-pro league since the age of 15 and has been an integral part of several championship wins within the league.

Mike Anthony

Methacton High School / North Hampton Community College / Lock Haven University 

Mike went to Methacton High School and then continue to play at North Hampton CC and Lock Haven University where he graduated from. During his career at Lock Haven he earned the 2016 Pitcher of the Year award for the program and was part of a 2107 PSAC championship. Upon graduation Mike then signed with the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League.

Phil Aviola (Level II)

St. Marks High School / Wilmington University / Philadelphia Phillies

A graduate of St. Marks High School and ASBA alum, Phil went on to play collegiately for Wilmington University as a catcher and received his degree in Criminal Justice. In 2009, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 35th round and played two years in their farm system. Phil has been with ASBA since September 2010 and in addition to being an instructor, he’s also coached 10u and 17u teams for ASBA.

Geoff Boylston

Archmere Academy / Penn State University 

Geoff went to Archmere Academy where he played baseball all four years. During his time there, he led the Auks to the State Tournament during each of his final two seasons. Geoff earned first team All-Conference honors as a pitcher and utility player in 2010 and was selected to the second team All-State squad as well. Geoff played his collegiate ball at Penn State University.

Luke Emling

Solanco High School / Villanova University / Millersville

Luke from Solanco High School in 2012 and was named to first team Pennsylvania All-State for OF. Luke attained a scholarship to play for Villanova University. At Villanova, he played outfield and DH and had a .333 BA his freshman year. He played summer ball in the Perfect Game League and made the All-Star team as an outfielder and holds thee Home Run records for the Perfect Game League. Luke trained with Tom House in California. After two years at Villanova, he transferred to Millersville University where he played for Coach Sheehan for a year. Luke graduated in May 2017 with a degree in Applied Engineering.

Natalie Lennox

Avon Grove High School / Post University

Natalie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Post University in May of 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts; Psychology focus in Education. She was four year infielder and outfielder while starting in 41 game starts her freshman year. Natalie was named to the CACC All Academic Team all four years and was a two year Post LaMoy Female Athlete Award recipient. In 2016-2017, Natalie was team captain and was top five for runs scored, OBP, triples and fielding percentage. Natalie was a switch hitter with specialization in slap hitting, bunting, and power-hitting.

Monica Levins

Norristown High School / Philadelphia University

Monica graduated from Philadelphia University in 2017 where she was captain of the softball team from 2013-17. She appeared in 141 games during her tenure, batted .270 with a .301 on-base percentage and 37 hits in her senior year with 12 extra-base hits including nine doubles, one triple and two home runs. Beyond softball, Monica was president/founder for AAUW Women’s Rights Group at Philadelphia University in 2017.

Matt was a graduate of Washington Township High School in New Jersey, where he was a two-time All-Conference pitcher, and two-time Carpenter selection. Matt played his collegiate ball at Montclair State University where he was a three-year starter as a second baseman, designated hitter and pitcher.

Maggie Miller is the current pitching coach for Rosemont College where she pitched all four seasons. Maggie was named CSAC All-Academic Team in 2013-2015; received the Rosemont Scholar-Athlete Award in 2014-2015 and was the Letter Winner her freshman and senior year.

Conestoga High School / West Chester University / University of Delaware 

A graduate of Conestoga High School, Steve, who grew up taking lessons at ASBA, went on to play collegiately for West Chester University before transferring to the University Delaware where he played quarterback on the football team and was the closer on the baseball team. During his time at Delaware, Steve set the school record for career saves and strikeouts per nine innings.

Steve has been an instructor with ASBA since December 2013.

A graduate of Archbishop John Carroll High School, Brian went on to play collegiately for Coastal Carolina before transferring to the University of Delaware. During his time at Delaware, Brian was a team captain, led the CAA in strikeouts and pickoffs and was a two-time Pitcher of the Week.

Brian has been with ASBA since 2011.
