All-Star Baseball & Softball Academy the Delaware Valley’s premier organization for developing young athletes through mentoring, instruction, and competition, is currently seeking an Instructor at several of our locations. Founded in 1998, All-Star is a well-respected, national leader in baseball training, with a focus on mentoring young players and emphasizing the benefits of hard work, commitment, and excellent training routines. All-Star offers both individual and team training at all our locations for players 5 to 18 years of age. All-Star has grown from a single location to five locations in Chester, Delaware, and Bucks counties of PA, as well as Cherry Hill, NJ. As a result of our expansion and continued success, All-Star is seeking strong candidates who are driven to succeed in a team-oriented environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform private lessons
  • Lead program and team training operations
  • Coach teams
  • Assist in facility cleanliness and maintenance
  • Assist in facility set-up, including programs, camps, clinics, team practices, and lessons based on baseball operations needs
  • Assist in program development, team development, and curriculum for practices, especially associated with teams coached
  • Assist in business development, including phone calls, coaches’ clinics
  • Assist in office operations, front desk duties, customer service, and general care of clientele
  • Perform daily lessons, camps, programs, and clinics while maintaining All-Star high standard of excellence and professionalism
  • Offer developmental tips and providing recommendations to prospects and clients of All-Star to promote progress and growth of each individual associated
  • Other duties as assigned

All-Star offers both individual and team training at all our locations for players 5 to 18 years of age. This is a great opportunity for any candidate with an interest in the business of sports and facility management. Interns will be guided on how to most effectively state their experience on their resumes so it is attractive to future employers. Furthermore, this is an opportunity to be involved with our academy and position yourself for a career path within All-Star Baseball & Softball Academy. This will be an unpaid internship.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a successful Intern, you will be responsible for assisting with the operations side of the facilities’ baseball and softball training and tournaments. The overview of the duties, as well as the breakdown of the tasks, is provided as a sampling of responsibilities that may be asked of the position.

Overview:

  • Work directly under the Facility Manager, assisting with Instructor/game/practice schedules and helping with phone calls, data entry, and paperwork as needed
  • Maintain a working knowledge of baseball and softball rules and procedures, announcing games and operating scoreboards as needed
  • Serve as a customer service representative to the customers – including parents, players, and coaches during tournaments – answering questions about their schedules and other details
  • Coordinate with the Facility Administrator in order to successfully execute the schedule
  • Perform basic grounds crew duties such as facility, fieldwork, and filling water coolers
  • Convey a high level of professionalism at all times while providing extraordinary external and internal customer service
  • Embody the initiative and passion to help uphold the values established by the All-Star Baseball & Softball Academy’s mission and brand
  • Work with staff to effectively achieve objectives while providing a once-in-a-lifetime experience for customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Description Breakdown:
(Note: Responsibilities may include any of the tasks below, but certainly not all.)

  • Instruction
    • Lead all children’s programs, 5-12 per season
    • Provide assistance in all rentals and tryouts
    • Feed ball machines for softball and baseball where applicable
    • Assist in League Affiliate Programs where needed
    • Perform as an assistant coach of teams where needed
    • Run 5-6 continuous programs
  • Office Administration
    • Assist in scheduling clients
    • Assist in compiling new prospects
    • Organize and distribute practice plans to all instructors
    • Welcome and register clients
    • Answer phones appropriately and professionally
    • Assist in communications to team clients (rain delays, tournament updates, etc.)
    • Provide weekend coverage at facility
    • Conduct outgoing eval calls /schedule
    • Follow-up on Evaluated Not Sold (i.e. ENS)
    • Check inventory for baseball equipment and other stock items on weekly basis (document)
  • Cleaning and Set-up
    • Set up facility prior to opening per COVID precautions
    • Pre and post-lesson/program set up of baseballs, tees, and nets in the cage area
    • Disinfect sitting areas between sessions with bleach/water sprayer
    • Disinfect bathrooms with a sprayer on a regular basis throughout day
    • Execute basic cleaning duties, including but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming carpeted areas, cleaning and stocking restrooms, cleaning windows, picking up trash, and emptying trash cans in facility/office
  • Miscellaneous Duties
    • Be a runner for all corporate needs (e.g. equipment, uniforms)
    • Provide assistance to the front desk and marketing department (e.g. set up video) where needed
    • Be available as a weekend filler for teams, tournaments, camps, etc.
    • Take pictures of clients at our facility to be used for social media marketing
    • Act as a marketing assistant when making league visits
    • Perform outbound phone calls for sales, fields, prospecting, evaluations

Founded in 1998, All-Star is a well-respected, national leader in baseball training, with a focus on mentoring young players and emphasizing the benefits of hard work, commitment, and excellent training routines. All-Star offers both individual and team training at all our locations for players 5 to 18 years of age. All-Star has grown from a single location to five locations in Chester, Delaware, and Bucks counties of PA, as well as Cherry Hill, NJ.

As a result of our expansion and continued success of The Future Starz Tournament Series, an All-Star company, we are seeking strong Intern candidates who are driven to succeed in a team-oriented environment. This opportunity will provide an in-depth understanding of how a tournament and events business operates from the logistical and administrative work required pre-event to working on-site during events. This is a great opportunity for any candidate with an interest in the business of sports and event management. Interns will be guided on how to most effectively state their experience on their resumes so it is attractive to future employers. Furthermore, this is an opportunity to be involved with our academy and position yourself for a career path within All-Star Baseball & Softball Academy. This will be an unpaid internship.

  • Serve as a customer service representative to the customers – including parents, players, and coaches during tournaments – answering questions about their schedules and other details
  • Coordinate with the Director of Special Events in order to successfully execute the event schedule
  • Perform basic grounds crew duties such as fieldwork and filling water coolers
  • Execute basic cleaning duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning and stocking restrooms, cleaning windows and picking up trash
  • Convey a high level of professionalism at all times, representing the Future Starz brand name, while providing extraordinary external and internal customer service
  • Embody the initiative and passion to help uphold the values established by the All-Star Baseball & Softball Academy/Future Starz Tournament Series mission and brand
  • Work with staff to effectively achieve objectives while providing a once-in-a-lifetime experience for customers
  • During the event, responsibilities include but are not limited to: using the radar gun to capture pitching velocities, ensuring game schedules remain on time, reporting and entering game results into the system, ensuring that college coaches are in attendance and are engaged in the gameplay, interacting with and holding accountable the college coaches, team players/coaches, and umpires to ensure that the event runs smoothly and professionally, organizing staff at each event, capturing social media content from the event, pre-event setup and post-event break down
